One of our values is to set an example for the environment. We aspire to a greener world and this starts with rail transport.

Compared to road transport, for the same transport capacity:

  • Rail consumes 6 times less energy
  • Rail emits 9 times less CO²
  • Rail causes 8 times less air pollution
  • Rail travels 6 times further with the same fuel

Average CO2 emissions per tonne km transported: 7g of GHG
Comparison:Road transport 86 to 110g* of GHG: 12 to 16 x more than rail freight.
FLUVIAL transport 20 to 45g* of GHG: 3 à 6 x more than rail freight.
